(I’m saving some Facebook posts here, in preparation for the likelhood that Facebook will become unusable in the near future. It looks like the best way is to post here first and link to Facebook afterwards, since copyijng stuff from Facebook takes a lot of time and care.) Feb 14, 2018 8:42 am Denise asked …
What a dream
The waves came in
families fled low-lying towns
following the muddy paths to the city
where all the food needed was given
all the shelter needed was provided
musicians performed their best ever
nobody sought credit
nobody was blamed
all was made whole
and better than whole
I have discovered that much of the text (and some of the pictures, videos and audio files) from this blog have been preserved at the Internet Archive. The link to access them is https://web.archive.org/web/20150809063222/http://halfredhouse.biz/wordpress/ . The links to “topics” on the right side of the screen mostly work, but the links to months and year ranges do not. Or try this link: https://web.archive.org/web/20140722102104/http://halfredhouse.biz/wordpress/2011/03/ if the other one doesn’t work.
Apologies to anybody who has been depending on the stability and consistency of my blog.
Godaddy told me I had to migrate to a new hosting platform right away, and when I checked, my wordpress blog was down. I tried to migrate it and was unable to do so, due to errors.
In exasperation, I finally opened the latest backup of the blog in a text editor and discovered that about 80 percent of it consisted of spam comments that I thought Akismet had eliminated, but which had actually been carefully preserved as “metadata”. I may start the painful process of extracting the valid entries from the backup and placing them in this new blog, but I might just start all over again and give up the old entries as permanently lost.
